In one of my previous posts ("Where's Maupin") I wrote about soldier Keith Matthew Maupin who was taken prisoner by insurgents in Iraq on April 4, 2004. I mentioned how I’d been carrying an article about him with me everyday for the past few years and I vowed to continue carrying it until he was found. I did not want Maupin to be forgotten. Well that day has come, and it’s not a happy ending.

The remains of Staff Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin have been found and identified by DNA. His family can now bring their son home where he belongs.

As of today the total number of American soldiers killed in the five-year-old Iraq war is 4009.
